Chair Yoga & Discussion of Using Yoga in Schools

Want to enjoy a quick yoga break with the time and space you have right NOW? Here is the class you’re looking for! Your YogaPro will guide you through posture, breathing, and meditation techniques that you can do easily at your desk. You will learn how to counter life’s demands on your back, shoulders, neck, eyes, wrists, and hips. There’s no need to change your clothes or move furniture; just follow along and you will feel the benefits. Beginners and seasoned yogis alike, this class is a fit for everyone. You will need: an upright chair. Before practice, please clear away clutter, take off your shoes, and silence alerts. Stay after the session for a guided discussion on using yoga in schools!

About your YogaPro, Laura Chismudy:

Laura Chismudy found her way to teaching yoga after experiencing injuries in pursuit of various physical activities, most notably recreational circus arts.  She teaches yoga and meditation in domestic and international locations, to students of all ages (from 6-80) and abilities (beginner to expert).  She prides herself in welcoming students in person and online by tailoring her classes to meet the needs of each class by soliciting requests.  Her class is accessible, grounding, intentional, and fun!

Laura has trained in many styles of yoga from Power Yoga to Chair Yoga, Buddhist Meditation, Anatomy, and Functional Movement.  Laura looks forward to meeting you, virtually or in person, and sharing her love for the practice of yoga!

Coffee Chats

Spend time with your NSFA peers and either grab your favorite book for an open conversation to discuss any of these popular titles or join your NSFA President to discuss the challenges you've faced in your district.

Sponsored by Bill Hoffman & Associates

Gail Rothman, CEFL, will lead the discussion on "Dare to Lead," written by Bréne Brown.

The ultimate playbook for developing brave leaders and courageous cultures. Daring leadership is a collection of four skill sets that are 100% teachable. It’s learning and practice that requires brave work, tough conversations, and showing up with our whole hearts.

Healther Carroll, CEFL, will lead the discussion on "The Knowledge Gap," written by Natalie Wexler.

The Knowledge Gap focuses on a long-overlooked issue lying at the heart of what is known as the achievement gap: the failure of most elementary schools, and especially those serving low-income children, to systematically build knowledge of the world.

Yolanda Pruit, CEFL, will lead the discussion on "The Zen of Fundraising," written by Ken Burnett.

A one-of-a-kind look into what makes donors tick and–more importantly–what makes them give.
